Commissions

A commissioned piece of artwork is a wonderful way to get exactly the art to fit your space and your unique artistic tastes.  I will work with you every step of the way, and there is a 100% satisfaction guarantee.  I will be sure that you love your new painting.

 

Commission process:

Step 1: Email Lisa at Leskienlisa@gmail.com or complete the form below with a commission request.  Please include a brief description of the painting you would like.  Include details like: size, and a photo of what you would like painted (if possible). 

Lisa will respond within 2 business days to arrange a phone or video call to discuss the commission.

 

Step 2:  Phone/Video Call to discuss the vision and expectations for the piece.  Lisa will ask questions to get a good idea if this is a painting that would be a good fit for her painting style.  Lisa will ask some questions to get a really good idea of what you would like in your painting like: colour palette, style, other pieces you like of Lisa’s work, dimensions, reference photos, where your painting is hanging, general feel of your painting.

 

With the above information, Lisa will email you with a quote for the scope of the work (within 2 business days of the phone call). 

 

Step 3: The creation of the painting.

 

There are 4 steps to the creation process:

1. Sketch on paper, Lisa will email a copy of a few composition sketches on paper for your approval. 

2.  Next you will approve the dark values on canvas (your sketch on the canvas).  When you are satisfied with the major shapes and elements of the painting, Lisa will start with the painting.

3.  During the painting stage, Lisa works with the colour palette we discussed in the earlier consultations and completes your lovely work of art. 

4. Shipping and Delivery – get ready to hang your special piece of art. In this step it is packaged and delivered to you.  Congrats on your new piece.  We will have some bubbly (either in person or by video call) and celebrate your beautiful new piece of art!

 

 

Timeline:

If few changes are requested in the early stages of the commission process, the creation of the painting takes about 2 weeks (depending on size).  The painting needs to dry (an additional 2 weeks) and varnish is applied and needs to fully dry (2 weeks).  The whole process takes approximately 8 weeks plus shipping/delivery.  ***Depending on how many commissions are in que – we will discuss the most current timeline expectations during our consultation call.***
